After retiring from the bench, Judge Thomas A. Spieczny (Ret.) and Judge Carlos Villa (Ret.) want to continue serving the legal community of El Paso. Judge Spiezcny was the Judge of County Court at Law No. 7 for over 13 years, and Judge Villa was the Judge of County Court at Law No. 5 for 16 years.  Judge Spieczny became a credentialed Mediator before taking the bench, and Judge Villa completed the Civil Mediation Course offered by the National Judicial College.

With the above experience of handling thousands of civil matters and numerous jury trials, and each with 30 years experience as trial lawyers, Judges Spieczny and Villa are in a unique position to evaluate cases for both Plaintiffs and Defendants.
